Membership on committees and boards

Program Chairman in Professional Conferences

The impact I have created on the proposed research area is manifested itself by my election as the Program Chairman of the 1994 International Conference on Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT '94), co-sponsored by IFIP and ACM SIGARCH, in association with ACM SIGPLAN, IEEE TCCA and TCPP. I have also been a co-chairman of the Second International Workshop on Dataflow and Multithreaded Comp- uter held in conjunction with the ACM ISCA-92 in Gold Coast, Australia, and a co-chair of the International Workshop on Multithreaded Computers, in conjunction with IEEE Supercomputing 1991 held in Albuquerque, New Mexico --- the first such meeting in this emerging field.

Program Committee Membership, Session Chair and Chairperson

I continue to serve in many program committees and as session chairman of international conferences in my research areas. Most recent ones include:

As A Panel Chair or Panelist in Professional Conferences

I have served as a panelist on a number of occasions. Most recently, I served a panel entitled `` NOW - is there No Other Way ?'' at the International Conference Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques, Cyprus, July, 1995. I have chaired the workshop entitled ``Workshop on Compiler and Architecture Issues for Future Generation Microprocessors'' in CASCON95 sponsored by IBM. I have also been a panelist in a number of international conferences.

Journal Editorship

I was guest Editor for the Special Issue on Dataflow and Multithreaded Computers, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing , Academic Press, June, 1993. I have also been a reviewer for many journals and conferences in the field of high-performance computing.

Invited Seminars and Distinguished Lectures

I was invited as the plenary session speaker at PARLE 1994 (Parallel Architectures and Languages Europe) Conference, Athens, Greece, July, 1994. I was also an invited speaker at the Opening Session of the 1993 International Symposium on Intentional Logic Programming Conference (ISLIP). I have given invited lectures in many industrial and academic organizations including IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Bell Northern Research, SGI, LLNL, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, IBM Amadan Research Center, IBM Santa Terasa Lab, IBM Toronto Lab, HP Labs, SGI,DEC,etc.

I have also been a distinguished invited speaker at 10th Anniversary Distinguished Seminar Series, Department of Computer Science, University of Victoria, and at Workshop on the Design and Use of Large-Scale Parallel Machines, Sponsored by IBM and ITRC.
